Strong bowls squad chosen

MID North Coast bowls selectors have named a strong line-up for the under 45s challenge against Lower North Coast at Hat Head on Sunday, April 11.

The likes of Cory Daley, Shayne Dodd and Matt Bell have been joined by promising youngsters Daniel Gilmore, Corey Wedlock and Josh McMaster.

Teams selected from lead through to skip are:

T Greenshields (Woolgoolga), C McDonnell (Urunga), P T Clarke (Sawtell), R Wardrop (Park Beach).

J Forbes (Urunga), C Forbes (Urunga), R Dudgeon (Park Beach), D Gilmore (Nambucca).

J Hicks (Park Beach), J Shearim (Urunga), H Aladjadjian (Scotts Head), C Daley (Park Beach).

J MacMaster (Park Beach), C Wedlock (Urunga) , M Wilson (West Coffs), S Hartigan (West Coffs).

C Adams (Woolgoolga), A King (Stuarts Point), S Wilson (West Coffs), M Bell (Woolgoolga).

J Jeffery (Stuarts Point), C Wills (West Coffs), M King (Stuarts Point), S Dodd (Woolgoolga).

As Corey Wedlock and P T Clarke are still involved in district triples, the quarter and semi-finals for that competition have now been deferred until Sunday, April 18, at Sawtell Bowling Club.

Eight teams, skipped by Alan McFayden, Graeme Purvis, Paul Bartholomew, Don Wood, Gary Wedlock, Rod Hiscock, Phil Hall and Laurie Morris, have reached the quarter-finals after the first two rounds played on Sunday.

Due to Anzac Day, the final will now be played on May 2.
