Street party for winning neighbourhood

GOOD neighbours become good friends at Oscar Ramsay Drive Cul de sac in Boambee East.

A street party was held for the residents of the Boambee East street earlier this month after they were named the best place to live in the 2CSFM Community Care Option’s Meet Your Street competition.

Like a scene pulled out of the famous Australian TV soapie, residents came together for a big barbeque with plenty of activities for the kids.

Coffs Harbour emergency services also attended in support of the event with the ambulance, fire engine and police vehicles attracting the interest of local kids.

Paul – Thomas (PT) Clarke nominated his Cul de sac as the best place to live that resulted in the street winning the Meet Your Street competition.

Mr Clarke described his neighbourhood as “more like a family than a street” with the street party a tribute to their culture of inclusiveness.

They have regular meetings and help each other out in times of need including cooking meals and sharing resources.

Community Care Options will run the Meet Your Street pilot project across the Coffs Coast from July to December.
