Ms Scott disappeared in April last year days before she was due to marry, and her burnt body was found about five days later in a national park about 70km from Leeton, New South Wales.

Vincent Stanford, a 25-year-old cleaner at the school Ms Scott worked at, was arrested four days after she disappeared and charged with her murder and sexual assault.

While police dropped the sexual assault charge in court on Thursday, it was expected to be replaced with a new, as-yet-unknown charge, ABC reported.
