Stenberg charged with murder

THE MAN wanted over the beheading of Broadwater's Edward "Ned" Kelly has been charged with his murder.

Jonathon Stenberg was escorted by Homicide Squad detectives on a flight that arrived in Sydney about 12.30pm on Wednesday after being extradited from the Northern Territory.

He was taken to the Sydney Police Centre where he was questioned by Homicide Squad detectives and charged with murder.

Stenberg will front Sydney's Central Local Court at 10am on Thursday.

Meanwhile, detectives are continuing their investigations into the death of 54-year-old Mr Kelly who was found by police decapitated in the kitchen of his River St home on Thursday, June 21 with a hat placed where his head should have been.

The NSW Homicide Squad on Wednesday confirmed they are still to trying locate Mr Kelly's head.
