Stars fly in for chopper ball

AUSTRALIAN actress Rachael Beck has confirmed she will be attending the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter charity ball to be held in Coffs Harbour on Saturday night.

The Golden Hearts Gala Ball, to be held in the auditorium of C.ex Coffs, is one of the biggest nights on the Coffs Harbour social calendar and Ms Beck will be the guest MC.

No stranger to Coffs, Ms Beck was born in Alstonville and spent part of her childhood growing up in Northern NSW. Much of Rachael’s current time is dedicated to musical theatre but she is also well known for her stage and television roles.

Another special guest making an appearance at the ball is former rugby league legend Eric Grothe and his band The Gurus.

The former Parramatta Eels champion recently took his band to Tamworth and earned the title of ‘best party band’.

Eric will be joined by Australian singer Mike Vee who appeared on Australia’s Got Talent.

Mike is better known for his show, Whispering Jack, which has been hailed as the best John Farnham tribute in the country.

As well as helping to raise money to keep the rescue helicopter flying, the ball is an opportunity to bring together helicopter staff, including pilots and crew, with the Coffs Coast community in a fun-filled evening of good food and entertainment.

Ball tickets are on sale until this Wednesday from C.ex Coffs.

Tickets are $120pp and include canapes, a three-course meal and all drinks (except spirits).
