Jesse's single debuts at number 38

COFFS Harbour’s golden girl has done it again.

Our very own country music star Jesse Emmanuel is ecstatic after her single, Don’t Touch My Guitar, debuted at an impressive number 38 on Austar’s Country Music Channel charts last week.

The video, filmed in Coffs Harbour and featuring local people, has been on high rotation on the channel, but Ms Emmanuel never expected the recent announcement.

“Michael Golsby, of Saltwater Video Productions, and I have been working on the ‘Don’t Touch My Guitar’ video for months now and when I finally saw it on TV I couldn’t believe how exciting it all was,” Ms Emmanuel said.

“The video was being played two or three times a day on the Country Music Channel which meant it was getting requested a lot – but last week it finally entered the charts and debuted at number 38.

“I was absolutely in shock, it’s insane. Hopefully people will keep requesting it and it will climb the charts.”

The single peaked at number 5 on the National Country Music Radio Charts and was the song that won Ms Emmanuel the title of ‘2010 Apra Songwriter of the Year’ last month.
