Q - How did you get into stand-up?
I was studying acting but then there weren't many acting gigs around and I found that I'd written a lot of stuff myself so one night got up and just kept going. In stand-up you can write, produce, direct and perform as one.
Q - What do you love about working in comedy?
Making a group of strangers laugh. It was something I noticed first watching comedians. I wasn't actually watching the comedian but watching the audience and seeing their reactions to what somebody was saying. It was very powerful. (And the free drinks)
Q - Who do you aspire to be like?
Myself or Bruce Springsteen, but I don't play guitar or write great songs.
Q - What do you think delivers a good laugh?
A well-written and delivered joke or seeing someone hit in the balls.
Q - What is your favourite place that you have performed at?
The Laugh Garage Comedy Club (I own it and have been running it since 2000).
Q - What can people expect at your upcoming Gladstone gig?
I expect people to buy heaps of CDs and DVDs from Lindsay Webb and myself, so we can buy our kids Christmas presents.
