A MAN was late yesterday being treated at a Sydney hospital after he was stabbed at Park Beach on Thursday night.
Police and paramedics were called to a house in Park Beach Road at 9.40pm when the 49-year-old sustained multiple stab wounds to his back.
He was transported in a serious condition to Coffs Harbour Health Campus and was yesterday afternoon flown to Royal North Shore Hospital for further treatment.
He was placed in intensive care, where his condition was listed as critical.
Police established a crime scene at the house as forensics officers searched for clues. Investigators also interviewed residents in the street.
At 8.40am yesterday, police arrested a man, 31, in Coffs Harbour.
He was subsequently charged with one count of malicious wounding with intent to murder.
