How many roadworkers does it take to change a lightbulb?

THURSDAY 10am: AN RMS spokeswoman has confirmed that the maintenance includes replacing light bulbs, cleaning air conditioning filters and inspecting the various operating and safety systems.

Landscape maintenance and grinding of the road surface will also take place.

WEDNESDAY 4pm: THE ST Helena Tunnel near Ewingsdale will close tonight for two nights for maintenance.

North and southbound Pacific Highway carriageways will be closed from 6pm to 5am today and tomorrow.

It is the fourth time the tunnel has closed for works this year alone following a string of closures conducted in April, May and June.

When asked about the extent about the works, an RMS spokeswoman said the works were "routine maintenance" with "numerous closures scheduled every quarter to ensure the roads are well maintained".

Southbound Pacific Mwy traffic will detoured to Hinterland Way via Ewingsdale Rd offload exit ramp while northbound highway traffic will be detoured to Hinterland Way via Bangalow Rd offload exit ramp.

Other roadworks will also be carried out on the roadway from Tintenbar to Ewingsdale on Thursday, December 8 from 7am to 4pm.
