St Augustine's in the swim

SWIMMERS from St Augustine’s Primary School recently competed in the Lismore diocese regional carnival held in Kempsey where they were competing for positions in the Polding squad to swim in the State Championships to be held at Sydney International Aquatic Centre in Homebush on March 25.

Tahlia Kollen who was in the Senior girls age group, gained placings in 50 metre butterfly, freestyle, backstroke and 200 metre individual medley.

Furthermore Kollen was awarded the senior girls age championship for the region.

Kollen along with Maddi Carah, Carrie Pittman and Mikayla Hutchinson also qualified as a team for the state championships when they finished second place to the team from Mary Help of Christians in the freestyle relay event.

All of the girls swam some excellent times in the relay and should be a force to be reckoned with at state.
