Sports Power gives back to clubs
SPORTS Power is giving back to the community by way of a new promotion.
Every month the business will announce a club of the month, which will then receive $500 to spend in the store.
First club of the month was announced with the Junior Mudcrabs taking the $500 and a 10% discount for all club members at Sports Power.
Sports Power manager Sandy Davison is the brain behind the new promotion.
She said it was about giving something back to the kids.
"It's about getting kids active, getting them in the park and kicking a ball around," she said.
"This is something that will give everyone a chance.
"So far, we are pleased with the reception and just want to remind people it's for the whole region.
"You just need to drop in, fill out a form and a wishlist."
Junior Mud Crabs president Darryl Eilola had a meeting with his club a few weeks ago about its wishlist. "The committee was excited, books came out along with pencils," he said.
So far the club has purchased a stretcher bed, water bottles, balls and marker cones.
"We just got a whole heap of equipment that the kids can use, take advantage off," Eilola said. Parents are also encouraged to take advantage of the 10% discount at Sports Power for their kids' sporting needs.
The next club of the month will be drawn on February 25.
So there's still time for you to sit down, write up a wishlist and pop it into the store.
