Even more added to Splendour TV

UPDATE Friday 9.30am: A HIGHLIGHTS package has been added to the line-up for Splendour TV this Sunday featuring Mark Ronson and a live set from Australian hip hop artist Tkay Maidza.

Mark Ronson gets people off the couch and shaking their booty.

The Grammy award winning, super producer and musician is bringing his set to Splendour.

Tuning in to see twenty-something-thousand people get their funk on.

The fearless force that is Tkay Maidza has some of the biggest names in the game dishing her praise  (Killer Mike, Charli XCX), her latest hit single M.O.B. topped the alternative radio airplay charts and is now making an imprint on commercial radio, following her sold-out M.O.B. National Tour, and a support tour with Charli XCX.

This Sunday, from 5pm, Telstra will be bringing you behind the scenes footage, interviews, live sets and featured sets, from the surrounds of North Byron Parklands.

You can enjoy all the action from the festival from the comfort of your lounge room, access the stream via www.telstra.com/music

INITIAL REPORT: SPLENDOUR in the Grass and Telstra have teamed up to offer a free online show.

It will be made possible by a local team of professionals.

Splendour in the Grass TV will broadcast this Sunday from 5pm until midnight at http://www.telstra.com/music

The special show will broadcast the live performances of UK bands Blur and Royal Blood, as well as featured performances by Of Monsters and Men, Peking Duk and Jarryd James.

James Mathison, Jane Gazzo and Ella Hooper will be the evening's hosts, presenting artist interviews, backstage gossip and their Splendour Awards for the Best of the Fest.

Telstra's area general manager North Coast NSW, Michael Marom, said a team of more than 20 local telco workers will make the project a reality.

"Around 20 to 25 Telstra staff will be working at the event supporting the broadcast plus other activities we are running over the weekend," he said.

Mr Marom agreed this was the biggest Telstra online broadcast event of the year after Sydney's New Year's Eve show.

"This will be by far the largest endeavour of live streaming (undertaken by Telstra)," he said.

TWO COWS

Two Telstra Cell On Wheels (also known as COWs) have been set up at North Byron Parklands

The COWs will also ensure local telecommunications are not impacted by the tsunami of selfies uploaded by punters hashtaging themselves.
