Speeding P-plater clocked on Pacific Hwy upgrade
THE first serious speeding offence has already been recorded on the Nambucca to Urunga Pacific Hwy upgrade.
Nambucca Valley highway patrol nabbed a green P-plate driver travelling at 149kmh in the 100kmh zone along the new hwy near the Ballards Rd interchange on Sunday.
Police said when they caught up to the driver, he had increased his speed to 165kmh.
The driver was fined more than $3000 and lost his licence for six months.
Police condemned the actions of the driver and said it was disturbing to see such speeds detected within 48 hours of the new road being opened.
