HE'S long had a need for speed and yesterday he finally had it fulfilled.

The winner of the Coffs Coast Advocate's Ultimate Rally experience, keen local motorcyclist Isaac Mayhew, had his dream come true when he hit a dirt track at Bucca as the co-driver for Justin Dowell.

He was in fast but safe hands.

Dowell is the current Australian rally champion and also has three Victorian titles under his belt.

The pair kicked up plenty of dust in Dowell's Mitsubishi Evo 9.

For Isaac, whose name was drawn from thousands of entries in the Advocate's competition, it was clearly a memorable experience - it took quite a while to wipe the grin from his face.
