Souths back big centre of attention

SOUTHS' Kirisome Auva'a raised a few eyebrows with his aggressive approach in his first senior game back from an NRL-enforced suspension following domestic violence charges.

But the centre (pictured) got nothing but praise from teammates after his showing against the Cowboys.

With another big game coming up for the premiers against the Bulldogs tonight, centres partner Dylan Walker said he was thrilled to be lining up alongside the Samoan-born 23-year-old.

"He's a great part of this team and he shows that much passion. The love that he has for this game - he really expresses that," Walker said of his 2014 NRL premiership teammate.

"He's a character around training - just to see 'Sommi' in the great head-space that he is now, it's awesome."

While Walker spent plenty of time on the field with Auva'a last season, the game against the Cowboys was the first time former Penrith prop Tim Grant had been on the field with him since switching to the Rabbitohs this season.

And he liked what he saw.

"It was a good experience. He brings a lot of aggression and excitement and energy, so he's a great addition," Grant said.

Souths have regained experienced back-rower Glenn Stewart from a one-week suspension but have lost hooker Issac Luke for one game for a dangerous tackle on Cowboys fullback Lachlan Coote last weekend.

The Bulldogs have made just one change to the team that beat the Titans 36-14 last weekend, naming Damien Cook at hooker to replace the injured Michael Lichaa.
