Songstress makes the final 10 in top comp
SUNSHINE Coast singer-songwriter Taylor Moss is already a star in the eyes of her fans, but this week she has shot to the top in the country music world.
The 19-year-old has been named a finalist in the 2015 Toyota Star Maker competition.
The Cooroibah teen said it was an "honour" to be in the top 10 in Australia's most prestigious country music talent search.
Moss said her passion for music continued to grow and evolve after more than four years pursuing her craft professionally.
"As a kid I grew up listening to Kenny Rogers and Keith Urban," she said. "There's isn't a word on most albums I didn't know.
"Country music is a relative emotion. Lyrically and musically it's truly an incredible community.
"It instantly sparks my passion to do this as a career path."
The songstress said she decided to get involved in Toyota Star Maker to make the most of the "incredible opportunity".
"It's just a dream come true," Moss said.
"Just to be a part of the 10 artists is a wonderful moment.
"I wanted to get on to that stage and show Australia as an artist what I could offer."
Moss has recently returned from a stint recording her original music and touring around the US.
She said her plans for the future included more trips abroad and honing her craft.
The Toyota Star Maker finals will be held in mid-January, 2015.
