Solo Cup teams to stay at home

ALL four North Coast Football teams still alive in the Northern NSW Solo Cup have been saved the task of travel for their second round matches of the knockout competition.

The matches to be played on May 1 will see Woolgoolga, Maclean and Sawtell host matches while Coffs United have been drawn to play its match against Great Lakes-based club Pacific Palms at Sawtell in a double header.

The Scorpions will start the double header when they host North Tamworth club Oxley Vale Attunga.

Woolgoolga face a challenging fixture against Macleay Valley Rangers while North Coast Football’s reigning premiers Maclean will host Port United who is confident of getting amongst the $10,000 prizemoney on offer for this competition.

The Solo Cup fixtures will only affect two local 1st Division matches that weekend.

New dates will need to be organised by the clubs for the Woolgoolga and Sawtell clash as well as the grand final replay between Maclean and Coffs United.
