So much to see and do at the Coffs Harbour Marina
NESTLED within the delights of our beautiful coastal town is the Coffs Harbour International Harbour, a world-class facility that caters to both locals and visitors.
If you haven't been to the marina recently, you need to get down there and check it out.
One of only six international custom clearance marinas in the state, the 165 berths, 100 tonne slipway, mechanic and on-site chandlery is just the start of this success story.
Coffs Harbour Marina lies amid productive estuaries, secluded beaches, stunning headlands, rock platforms, and one of the state's most important group of offshore islands - the Solitary Islands.
The Coffs Harbour Marina Village boasts cafes, restaurants, an ice-creamery, a hairdresser and retail speciality stores including a chandlery and clothing and accessories shop. The marina also hosts boat charters, whale watching tours, day charters and deep-sea fishing charters.
Bought by StarMarinas in 2006, the Marina Village has had a pleasing transformation with a wide range of facilities now on offer. Far from a place to merely berth or take in the visiting boats, the marina and village is very much a destination in itself.
Pamper yourself at Marina Hair and Beauty, take the kids for a homemade ice-cream at Eric's Ice Creamery, enjoy a spot of retail therapy at Chilli Dog Clothing or celebrate a special occasion with a delicious meal and panoramic ocean view at Latitude 30.
"I think one of the most special things about this area is the mixture of businesses and activities,” said marina manager Elise Currey.
"Apart from visitors coming down to visit the shops, you get groups waiting in anticipation to go whale watching or out on a fishing charter, fishing trawlers unloading on the co-op wharf, school groups doing assignments on marine habitats, Water Police and Marine Rescue heading out to sea, excavators rebuilding our break wall... so much to see and do.”
