AN 89-year-old woman has been transported to Mackay Base Hospital, after reportedly being bitten by a green tree snake at Greenmount.

A Queensland Ambulance Service crew responded to the incident at an address on Stockroute Rd, about 2pm today.

A QAS spokesman said the woman was "conscious and alert" and transported to Mackay Base Hospital, in a stable condition, as precaution.
