Radio jock's snake fear now hisss-tory

IF YOU heard a little tremor of fear in Col Daisley's voice as he presented his session on 2 AIR FM last week, it might have been because he had a snake around his neck, licking his forehead.

Col's interviewed a lot of people in his 15 years with the radio station, but never before has he had an experience quite like this.

Being snake season, Col had arranged for Steve McEwan from Reptile World to be interviewed regarding snakes, and to dispel the myths associated with them.

Like many people, Col has a fear of snakes and was surprised when, at the end of the interview, Steve took a black-headed python out of a bag and walked around the console to put it around Col's neck.

While it caused great mirth for the people in the office area who were looking through the window to the studio, they were also grateful to be on the other side of the door.

Col said he's not sure if his fear is gone, but he was certainly glad Steve was in control of the situation.
