Smash victims are recovering

THE five people lucky to survive a nasty smash near Fernmount on Saturday are now recovering from their injuries.

The smash happened at 5.30pm when a blue 1977 Holden Torana travelling east on Waterfall Way crossed to the wrong side of the road into the path of a white 1991 Subaru Liberty, police said.

A girl, 14, and her brother, 11, who sustained internal injuries, were in stable condition in Sydney’s Westmead Children’s Hospital yesterday.

A child, 9, and a man, 36, were in stable conditions in Coffs Harbour Health Campus.

Another man, 47, was in a serious but stable condition in Coffs Harbour Health Campus.
