Small swell predicted for the week with clean waves for surfers
We are going to have a settled ocean this weekend and next week here on the Coffs Coast.
A south east swell of around a meter will provide a few waves on the open beaches.
Winds will be light and more offshore in the mornings providing the best surfers conditions.
Moving into next week the swell will stay small with winds and swell direction becoming more variable.
We should start to get a few small, clean waves in the northern corners as well as on the open beaches depending on the winds.
Local surf news
Even with the predicted small conditions again this weekend, Woolgoolga Boardriders are looking to run an open comp tomorrow.
Keep an eye on the WBC Facebook page for more information including location for the day.
Congratulations to Corindi Beach surfer Ryley Smidt who came third in the Skull Candy Oz Grom Open at Lennox Head.
This event is one of the biggest junior surfing comps in the country and brings in an international field.
Ryley's third place in the under 14 boys is a break out performance from this very talented young surfer and I think we are going to be hearing a lot more of him in the big event.
Ryley is now off to compete in the state titles at Port Macquarie.
Other locals to compete at Lennox Head were Zane Hutchinson, Sam Arvidson and Kye Nudd.
All the boys performed well, surfing through a few heats.
Good luck to all the local Groms competing in the state titles at Port Macquarie.
Results will be in next weeks article.
