Slovenia tune-up for Boomers in bid against NZ

THE Boomers will finalise their preparations for this month's Oceania Championship with a double-header against Slovenia tomorrow and Wednesday morning.

The Oceania Championship will be played against New Zealand, with the winner securing automatic qualification for next year's Rio Olympics.

The Boomers lost their two games against Lithuania last week, although coach Andrej Lemanis said there were plenty of positives in the 92-85 loss in game two.

David Anderson (pictured) led the way with 20 points, while Brock Motum grabbed 15 and NBA championship winner Andrew Bogut finished with 12.

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Matthew Dellavedova took to the floor for the first time on the European tour, scoring three points in his 17 minutes of court time.

The Opals beat Japan 2-1 in their three-game series ahead of their Oceania Championship.
