Slasher thief is still on the run

A MAN is still on the run after he slashed a teenager and her dad with a knife in their Coffs Harbour home.

The violent home invasion happened in Calala Place at 9.40pm on Friday.

Detective Inspector Cameron Lindsay, the acting Coffs/Clarence local area commander, said the girl suffered a large cut under her jaw which required 25 stitches while her father sustained a cut around the back of his head and ear.

Police further allege the intruder stole property from the home before fleeing.

“Police will allege the man was involved in a scuffle in the house and he may have facial injuries,” Mr Lindsay said.

The offender is described as 170cm to 180cm tall, aged in his early 20s, with a milky complexion, short dark spiky hair and a slim athletic build.

If you have information about this man, you are urged to contact Coffs Harbour detectives on 6652 0299 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
