COFFS Harbour's skate park will be the place to be on Friday, as CHYFM hosts its first music and skate festival - The Big Skate Out.

Made possible through a grant from Coffs Harbour City Council's Arts and Cultural Development Small Grants program, the Big Skate Out runs from noon to 8pm

The day is promising to be huge, with a stellar line-up of local acts including Flying Giant, The Heartless, He Danced Ivy, The Black Ocean, Marlou, Meridian Theory, Intermission, Matty Effin Morrison, BDK and Christian James.

There will also be skate jams with some major skate prizes on offer from Popsgood Skateboarding.

The C.ex Community Crew will be running a sausage sizzle from 1pm, BCC Cinemas will be giving away prizes, and Yogurtland will be selling tubs of creamy frozen yogurt.

The finale of the drug-free and alcohol-free event will be a free laser light show at 8pm.
