SIX Mackay beauties will go to Cairns to compete in the Miss Teen Australia state final after taking out the top placings in the Central Queensland regional final at the weekend.

Presley Andrew, who came first in the competition, said she was nervous but excited to be heading to Cairns next month.

"I was speechless. I didn't really expect it because there were so many beautiful girls," she said.

Miss Andrew will be joined by Brooke Finato, Maddilyn Brown, Brooke Walker, Shane Bartels and Denika Brand, who took out second to sixth place consecutively, beating six other teens who also competed in the event.

The event was organised by Miss Teen Australia Central Queensland regional manager Brooke Thompson, of Brooke-Lee modelling. Company spokesperson Robyn Thompson said they were proud of all 12 girls.

"It takes a lot of confidence," she said.

The three winners at the state final will then go on to represent Queensland at the national title in Fiji.
