Sisters return to family roots in Charleville

SISTERS Suzan and Lisa Davidson drove nine hours from Brisbane to attend the Charleville races for their second year in a row and, this time, they brought all their friends with them.

Donning their matching personalised shirts, the sisters travelled all the way back to their hometown to reunite with their cousin, Rude Jude and pay their respects at their grandfather's grave.

"Even though my grandfather died when I was just a baby, having that history back here is really special,” Suzan said.

Their father, Billy Davidson, was a well-known Charleville horse trainer his whole life. Spending a day on the track is a way for the sisters to relive their dad's passion, with their friends tagging along for a good time and plenty of beverages.

"We enjoyed it so much last year, we had to return,” Suzan said.

"It's an absolutely fantastic weekend and we have lots of laughs.”
