Single Fin Classic was all action

YOUNG surfer Billy Keane has used experience picked up recently on the junior rep circuit to win the fifth annual Tony Waller Memorial Single Fin Classic.

Hosted by Sunpatch Sawtell surfers, the classic picked up the fun waves at Southside Sawtell.

More than 50 competitors across all divisions took part, all keen to win the main prize of a brand new single fin board, shaped by Dennis Anderson at Jet Surfboards.

The Open competitors really turned it on, with a great mix of old versus new school and many different styles of how to get the most out of the old singly.

It was also great to see ladies get amongst it and the juniors showed that they are snapping at the heels of the older crew in Opens.

All the proceeds from the event were donated to help out Sawtell local Billy Ross Jr, and a huge shout out goes to all that helped in any way.
