WHITSUNDAY Times has expanded its coverage of local news on its website and we're keener than ever to ensure you don't miss a thing.

As well as local news, sport, events, entertainment and things to do, we've updated our website to include special sections for Proserpine and Bowen.

It's clearly working with readership up considerably in recent months.

And we're today letting you know there's a new way to get the most up to date news from the Whitsundays delivered to your email inbox.

The top of the home page continues to showcase the best of local news, as well as the best of news from around the region, and top stories from across News' Australian and international network.

Scroll down the home page a little more and you will see we now have new sections for stories from the Bowen Independent and Whitsunday Coast Guardian.

We've also just activated a new newsletter, meaning you can get the best of our stories turning up regularly in your email inbox

To receive the newsletter, you just need to sign up to be a registered user of our site and select the newsletters you want to receive.

On our website, you will also find the latest photo galleries and videos from across our network, as well as real estate, jobs and motoring news and listings and our classifieds.

As we've seen during major weather events in this region, it's vital that the local community is informed in a timely manner - and we're committed to doing that on our website.

We know that we play an important part in bringing the community together in the face of adversity and disaster, as we saw after Cyclone Debbie.

We will continue to use every means available to us: our printed papers, expanded online network and Facebook pages, to keep you informed.

After all, we're for you.
