Si Clean charges up technology

SI CLEAN Energy has unveiled its first public electric car charging station in a move to support the growing electric car market.

Visitors Greg and Janet were the first to take advantage of the the new Ingeteam garage electric vehicle charger during their Sydney to Brisbane trip in a Tesla Model S vehicle.

Si Clean Energy’s Lee Bulanyi said due to the scarcity of recharge stations, the first leg of the couple’s trip required two overnight stops to achieve necessary battery recharges.

“They contacted us to ask if they had the facility to recharge their car to allow the trip to be made with one overnight stop,” he said.

“We offered to immediately install one at our Coffs Harbour facility.”

Once re-charged and ready to go, they drove on to their home destination.

“We hope to provide many more re-charges to electric vehicle owners as they gain favour as an alternative to internal combustion vehicles,” Mr Bulanyi said.

“With an extensive solar panel system on the Si Clean Energy facility, the option of daytime EV charging not only means there is zero running cost in driving from A to B, it also produces zero pollution in doing so.”
