Showground masterplan explained

A PUBLIC forum on Tuesday will be held to explain the Coffs Harbour Showground Master Plan. The forum will be held at 7pm on Tuesday in the auditorium at Club Coffs on West High Street.

The public exhibition period for the masterplan, which also covers adjoining Crown reserves, has been extended until November 30 by the NSW Minister for Lands.

Forum organiser Nan Cowling said there would be generic submission forms available at the meeting for interested residents to use.

“Please try to attend and save our showground for future generations,” Mrs Cowling said. “There will be guest speakers followed by a question-and-answer session, so come along, listen, and have your say.”

One of the speakers at the forum will be the president of the Coffs Harbour Show Society, Christopher Pearson, who believes the masterplan, if adopted, will spell the demise of the annual Coffs Harbour Show.

Nan Cowling can be contacted on 6652 3130 or, if unanswered, 0422 108 752.

The masterplan can be viewed on the Land and Property Management Authority website or at the showground office; Coffs Harbour City Council chambers and LPMA office at the jetty.

Submissions should be sent to: Senior Manager, Far North Coast Crown Lands Division, LPMA, PO Box 272, Grafton, NSW, 2460 or email to: CLWR.NorthCoast @lpma.nsw.gov.au by November 30.
