Coffs Harbour Show a grand success in its 99th year
THE Coffs Harbour Show has been hailed a 'grand success' ahead of the big 100-year anniversary in 2014.
Organisers say the show committee will debrief this week on how to improve the three-day event for its big centenary next year.
On a weekend of perfect weather there were large numbers of entries across most ribbon categories in the exhibition pavilion.
The side show alley also drew good crowds and the show went off with a bang on Saturday night with a big fireworks display.
Advocate photographer Leigh Jensen captured all the family fun of the event in her photo gallery.
As show president Bill Van Ryswyk said just over four years ago an appeal went out to the Coffs Harbour community inviting local folk to join the existing committee to help save the show from a possible permanent demise.
"This resulted in a small, but enthusiastic group of people coming together to undertake to turn our Show into an exciting and affordable event that would be attractive to families," Mr Van Ryswyk said.
