Shooter thought to be a local

A RECENT Advocate article shed some light on the identity of a man wanted over a shooting at Park Beach last year and so police have renewed their call for assistance to bring the offender to justice.

This comfit image puts a face to the shooter, who allegedly fired a bullet into the shoulder of a man in a laneway near Park Beach Plaza on Thursday, June 16 at 6.50pm.

Police were told the offender ran off with the man's wallet, as the injured 20-year-old staggered into the shopping complex and was helped by a woman who called emergency services.

The victim who suffered non life-threatening injuries has since given police a description of the offender.

Just over a year since the shooting and detectives continue to pursue leads under a strike force codenamed Ronda.

Investigating officers said they have received several positive sources of information from the public suggesting the offender is from the local area.

He is described as having a dark complexion and dark scruffy hair and was wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information can contact Coffs Harbour Detectives via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
