Shirts worn to spread kindness message

THE phrase 'Be Kind' is set to become a mantra across the Mackay region in the lead up to the 2016 Run for MI Life events.

To kick start their campaign organisers of the annual event have produced promotional sports apparel T-shirts in time for Christmas.

Along with the black T-shirt there is also a limited edition red shirt available in time for Christmas that reads 'Tis the season to...Be Kind'.

"My idea is to have workplace to use these as their Friday shirts," Run for MI Life organiser Jo Shanks said.

"It's just a little thing we have started doing."

This year about 2000 people took part in Run for MI Life that was created by Ms Shanks, in honour of her brother Matthew Ivory, who died by suicide in October 2012.

The event was held in Walkerston and Glenden and Moranbah for the first time.

Shirts can be bought online at www.runformilife.org.au or from Barber Jo's in Walkerston.
