Sharpe is on fire at pro junior

JAYKE Sharpe advanced to round four of the Billabong ASP World Junior titles after yesterday's upset win over Hawaiian Casey Brown at North Narrabeen.

Sharpe scored 12.33 and needed just two waves to down his rival, who came in with 9.50 points.

His next opponent is Marc Lacomare of France, who won the prior heat with a brilliant score of 16.50.

Lacomare had an awesome ride against Owen Wright and tied with Stuart Kennedy for second-highest score of the round.

Despite his dogged fight to stay in contention, Sharpe remains one of the outsiders with Lincoln Taylor and Julian Wilson strongly tipped as the main contenders.
