Sex worker sexually assaulted in her home, police allege

A 46-YEAR-OLD sex worker suffered extensive internal injuries when a client sexually assaulted her by inserting his entire fist inside her last week, police are alleging.

The woman had organised to have sex with a 66-year-old Queensland man at her Banora Point home last Thursday.

"After deciding to go have consensual sex with the accused they went to her bedroom where he inserted his fist, whole hand and arm in her vagina," Tweed-Byron LAC crime manager Acting Inspector Saul Wiseman said.

"Consent was withdrawn and the woman suffered extensive internal injuries and she was bleeding extensively."

Acting Insp Wiseman said the man helped the woman clean up the blood before he left the house.

"There was some payment in exchange for sex," he said.

The man was extradited from Miami and arrested by Tweed police officers and charged with aggravated sexual assault and recklessly inflict grievous bodily harm.

He appeared at the Tweed Heads Local Court yesterday and was refused bail.

The case was adjourned to Lismore Local Court today.

Updates to come.
