Senior constable charged with aggravated child sexual assaul

A POLICE officer accused of sexually assaulting boys as young as five will be tried as a minor after a Sydney court heard he was a teenager when the offences allegedly occurred.

The 37-year-old senior constable from an undisclosed station in Northern NSW, is charged with five counts of aggravated sexual assault, one count of aggravated indecent assault and five counts of aggravated indecency.

It will be alleged he was aged between 15 and 17 when he assaulted two boys aged between five and nine.

The case will return to court at a later date.

The officer has been suspended from the NSW Police Force with pay.
