DUAL Olympic gold medallist Emily Seebohm is set to contest her first short course world championships after dominating the Australian short course titles in Adelaide.

The Queenslander took her tally of national short course gold medals to 11 on night four of the competition, adding the 200m individual title to the 100m backstroke and 100m individual medley golds she won earlier in the meet.

The 22-year-old had the chance to extend that total to 13 last night when she contested the 50m and 100m backstroke finals.

Australia will send a 20-strong team to Doha for the world titles next month, and Seebohm (pictured) said taking part would be an important lead-up to the 2016 Olympics in Rio.

"I'm treating events like these Australian Championships and the Doha Worlds as preparation for the Olympics, and the short course season helps with improving your turns," she said.
