Police looking for third assailant

TWO down, one to go.

That’s the story so far for police investigating an attack on a man in Woolgoolga this week.

They’ve arrested two youths over the incident and are looking for their accomplice.

At 11pm on Monday, a 27-year-old man had just finished his shift at Woolgoolga’s United Service Station on the Pacific Highway and was walking in nearby Clarence Street when three young men confronted him and pushed him to the ground.

Police allege they demanded he return to his workplace but he refused and they took his mobile phone. The man signalled a passing car and his assailants fled.

The man reported his ordeal to Woolgoolga Police Station and officers went to the service station, which they discovered had been broken into and sweets stolen.

Police have charged two youths, aged 16 and 17, and charged them with aggravated robbery, break and enter and detain for advantage.
