Search for missing surfer at Woolgoolga scaled back

THE SEARCH for a man missing off Woolgoolga main beach since yesterday has been scaled back.

It's believed surf life savers and police are searching other waters after considering tide flows but the Westpac Rescue helicopter has returned to base.

The man who was rescued by onlookers returned to the beach this afternoon and helped console friends of the missing male.

After an early delay the parents of the man have now been located and were notified in Korea

Reports are that he had been working in Australia on a 12-month visa.
