WOOLGOOLGA Seahorses will pay tribute to two fallen warriors when Coffs Harbour Comets visit the Sports Reserve tomorrow.

The great affection for the late Brad Bird and Daniel Pledger will be displayed in the special jumpers minted for the occasion.

Brad and Daniel were members of last year's first grade team and tragically, both died during the off-season.

"The boys will always be in our hearts and we will be honouring them this week," president Stu Evans said.

"A special memorial jersey has been designed and will be worn by the first grade team.

"The jerseys will be available for purchase through eBay and all profits made will go to Brad's young family."

There are 15 jerseys on offer and bidding opens today.

Visit ebay.com.au and put Woolgoolga Seahorses Memorial Jersey in the search bar to place a bid.

Apart from the tribute to Daniel and Brad, the match is the second and deciding one for the Dawes-Harvey Cup.

The Comets stole a march with the lopsided 62-22 win on May 25 and to take the trophy the Seahorses need to win by 41 points.

It's going to be a difficult assignment, made even harder by a suspension handed out to captain-coach Steven Spencer by the Group 2 judiciary.

Spencer was sent off in controversial circumstances last Sunday at Macksville but offered an early guilty plea to a category one charge of 'careless use of an arm - careless head high tackle'.

He will be side-lined until August 3.

However should the Seahorses manage to turn the tables on their first round conquerors it will likely end any last hope the Comets retain of swiping the minor premiership from under the noses of Grafton.

Whatever the outcome, Coffs have plenty to celebrate after the latest tidings involving club legend Sandra Ellicott.

"Sandra has been advised she is a finalist for a Lifetime Achievement in the NRL's One Community awards," president Steve Gooley announced.

"She has already been nominated for a Country Rugby League award this year and this is the next step higher.

"I know Sandra's family is proud of her and the senior and junior Coffs Harbour Comets are also enormously proud."
