Seahorses in too deep
THERE'S no way Woolgoolga coach Steven Spencer is foxing when he insists his team faces a tough task against rapidly improving South Grafton when Group 2 rugby league resumes tomorrow.
The two-week break has not been kind to the Seahorses.
In a triple whammy, classy hooker Dean Janda has been ruled out for the season, halfback Fred Robinson is still sidelined with a recurring hamstring strain while skipper Clark Webb is in Scotland for the next four matches.
"We just have to go with what we've got and give a few of the young blokes an opportunity to step up," Spencer said.
"Joel Collison went pretty well with the under-18 rep side last weekend so he gets his chance at halfback while Aden Baloh moves out one spot from last time to cover for Webby.
"We'll also see how young Lachie Buller goes running on for his first full game at hooker.
"Now, I'm being honest in saying we are going to do it tough.
"The Rebels have improved out of sight since we played them early in the year when they were just finding their feet and I believe they are going to play semi-final football.
"All I want is for my boys to give it a real go and let's hope there are no more injuries."
The side is crying out for Spencer's return.
He visits his specialist on Thursday week and hopes to resume against Sawtell on June 29.
