SOUTHERN Cross University opens its doors to prospective students from Monday with information days across its Coffs Harbour, Gold Coast and Lismore campuses.

The days aim to help students decide where to study in 2013.

Last year more than 700 people attended information days and friends and relatives of students are welcome to attend and explore.

SCU head of marketing and recruitment, Janet Hanlan, said the days are a helpful tool in assisting prospective students in their decision-making.

"Attendees can meet with lecturers, attend information sessions on any course options, receive career advice and gather information material that can assist them to hit the ground running," she said.

"It also helps prospective students familiarise themselves with the campuses so if they choose to attend the university they have an idea of where to find essential services and teaching facilities.

"Current students will also be on hand to talk about university life."

Coffs Harbour campus will host the first info day on Monday.

Activities start from 11am and will include course information sessions on the degrees offered at Coffs which include arts, business, creative writing, education, information technology, hospitality management, midwifery, nursing, psychological science and social science.

Information on associate degrees will also be provided.

Lismore campus will host the second info day on Wednesday with Gold Coast open on Thursday.

For detailed information on each event go to scu.edu.au/scuinfoday/

Prospective students who can't make an info day may also go to this website to register for a virtual info session.
