Screaming Jet to give rivals a shiver at Ballina
TRAINER Matthew Dunn admits Screaming Jet, who saddles up at Ballina on Sunday, to date has failed to live up to his ability.
"He's got a stack of talent but his brain doesn't match his body," Dunn suggested.
"In saying that he's in the right race on Sunday and there are more wins in store for him."
The four-year-old entire by Jet Spur will have Glen Colless in the saddle.
Screaming Jet cost $50,000 as a yearling at the Magic Millions sale and in his early days, Dunn had high hopes for the galloper.
"I had an opinion of him early on but he's a horse that doesn't cope well with things," the trainer said.
The horse has still managed to register two wins and three thirds from 11 starts, despite his difficulties.
"He's a lovely horse to look at, certainly a good type.
"We've established 1000 to 1100 metres is his go.
"He should hold the fence and lead from barrier one.
"That's the best place for him and he's got the right form on the board to be hard to beat in the right race."
