Principal promotes Steiner School

STEVE Scott might be a newcomer to Coffs Harbour but his passion for the community is as intense as any local.

The newly appointed principal of Casuarina Steiner School has only been at the school for one term but already loves being a part of the local community.

“Part of the attraction was this idyllic part of New South Wales and the other was the opportunity to take the leadership role at the school,” Mr Scott said.

In his third principal role, Mr Scott has just returned from his stint at an international school in Qatar and has brought his wife and two children to settle in the region.

Mr Scott wants to bring the school back to the attention of the community and publicise ‘all the beautiful things being done’ there.

“From all my roles this is the school and community I have felt most warmly embraced by, I feel extremely welcome and everyone is so warm,” he said.

“This school really is a bit of a secret and I want to change that. It’s such a beautiful environment; in my 25 years of teaching I haven’t seen anything like it.”

Mr Scott has already been instrumental in re-establishing the Parents and Friends group and will be holding Open Days at the School at the end of May.
