Scorpions prove they have plenty of sting

AFTER last week's goal assault, the Sawtell Scorpions have shot to the top of the North Coast Football Mens Premier League ladder.

Sawtell hammered home a 9-0 win against the cellar-dwelling and winless Grafton United.

The big win gifted the Scorpions the three points needed to scurry to the top of the ladder ahead of second placed Coffs Coast Lions and third place Urunga Raiders.

The top of the ladder is congested with the top three sides locked together on 22 points each.

But the Lions and Raiders still have two games up their sleeve to capitalise on.

Orara Valley Dingoes sit close behind on 21 points.
