Sawtell surfers to the fore

SAWTELL'S longboard surfing fraternity shone on Wednesday at the Australian Surf Festival being held in Port Macquarie.

North Haven beach delivered perfect right handers for competitors and Sawtell surfers Ron Schneider and Richard Smith took full advantage.

Smith put on a fantastic display on the four foot right-handers peeling off the breakwall to move into the final of the over-45 section while Schneider has progressed through to the semi finals in the over-50 mens section.

These great local results follow on from Tuesday where renowned Sapphire Beach longboarder Jared Neal qualified for the Open mens final.
