Saver Plus adds up for education
A SAVINGS program which helps low income families will be launched in Coffs Harbour next week.
The Smith Family and ANZ will kick off the financial education and matched savings program on Tuesday at the Coffs Harbour ANZ branch at 6pm.
The program will be available to residents in Coffs Harbour and surrounding suburbs.
Saver Plus helps families save for their own or their children’s education and ANZ rewards their efforts by matching every dollar they save with another dollar, up to $500.
The program encourages families to save small amounts of money throughout the year using simple budgeting and planning techniques.
“We are pleased to be delivering Saver Plus for the first time in Coffs Harbour, helping families save for education and giving them the tools to develop their financial skills,” said The Smith Family CEO Elaine Henry.
“Through Saver Plus, participants are provided the opportunity to maintain spending diaries, prepare saving goals and plans which help to create a savings habit for the future.”
Saver Plus is open to people who have education-related costs, have a health-care or pensioner concession card and some regular income from employment.
“We look forward to working closely with The Smith Family in Coffs Harbour to deliver this fantastic program which helps build participants’ financial skills, knowledge and confidence,” said Stuart Willman, ANZ Coffs Harbour manager.
