Sappho’s a gem of an art gallery

Ray Meyer

ELISABETH Bor will officially open her art studio and gallery in Sapphire Beach on Saturday.

The local artist plans to sell and exhibit oil and acrylic paintings, and ceramics.

“My love for drawing and painting started at a very young age,” Ms Bor said.

“I like to paint still-lifes, landscapes, seascapes with all the intricacies of nature,” she said.

“I use both acrylic and oil paint on canvas and have a great passion for colours.

“I completed my art studies in the Netherlands and have held a solo exhibition in Perth Western Australia and have been part of many group exhibitions.

“Some of my paintings have been sold in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Australia.

“I also hand-make ceramic art, either functional or sculptural, each piece individual, made with a glaze that is either brushed, sprayed or sponged.

“I currently sell my artwork in galleries and exhibitions.”

Sappho’s Art Studio is at 160 Gaudrons Rd, Sapphire Beach, and will open on Saturday at 4pm.

The studio will open every weekend and long weekends from 10am to 4pm.
