The latest changes on the Sapphire to Woolgoolga upgrade

ROADS and Maritime Services have advised the following changes to traffic conditions on the Sapphire to Woolgoolga Pacific Highway upgrade seciton

Sapphire Beach

- The Sapphire Beach interchange northbound off and on ramps along with the northbound crossover near the Nautilus Beachfront Apartments from the highway onto the service road will be temporarily closed to install a low noise road surface from Monday to Friday between 6am and 7pm, weather permitting.

During this time, highway traffic will be one lane in each direction on the southbound highway and changed highway access arrangements will be as follows:

Local service road, Sapphire Crescent, Headland, Split Solitary, Gaudrons, Sugarmill, Wakelands, and Maccues Road, Sapphire Beach

To travel to the highway heading north use the Solitary Islands Way service road and Moonee Beach interchange northbound on ramp.

To travel from the highway heading north, use the Moonee Beach interchange northbound off ramp, the interchange bridge and the southbound on ramp to the Sapphire Beach interchange. Alternatively, use the Moonee Beach interchange northbound off ramp and the Solitary Islands Way service road.

- Opal Boulevard, Korora

To travel to the highway heading north, turn left onto the highway and use Old Coast Road at Korora to make a u-turn.

Seaview Close and Campbell Close, Korora

To travel to the highway heading north or south, traffic control will allow a left turn onto the northbound highway to the northbound crossover near the Nautilus Beachfront Apartments to make either a left turn to travel north or a right turn to travel south.

- Sapphire Beach

The Sapphire Beach interchange northbound on ramp will be temporarily closed to install a low noise surface between on Saturday from 6am to 7pm, weather permitting.

During this time, highway traffic will be one lane in each direction on the southbound highway and changed highway access arrangements will be as follows:

The local service road, Sapphire Crescent, Headland, Split Solitary, Gaudrons, Sugarmill, Wakelands and Maccues Roads, Sapphire Beach

To travel to the highway heading north use the Solitary Islands Way service road and Moonee Beach interchange northbound on ramp.

To travel from the highway heading north, use the Sapphire Beach interchange northbound off-ramp and the Solitary Islands Way service road to access these local roads.

- Opal Boulevard, Korora

To travel to the highway heading north, turn left onto the highway and use Old Coast Road at Korora to make a u turn.

Seaview Close and Campbell Close, Korora

To travel to the highway heading north turn left onto the highway to the Sapphire Beach interchange northbound off ramp and use the Solitary Islands Way service road to the Moonee Beach interchange northbound on-ramp.

- Woolgoolga

The Graham Drive north interchange northbound off ramp will be temporarily closed for finishing work on Monday from 6am to 7pm, weather permitting.

During this time changed highway access arrangements will be as follows:

To access Woolgoolga when travelling north on the highway use the northbound off ramp at Graham Drive South and the service road to the Graham Drive north interchange.

To access Woolgoolga when travelling north on the service road use the interchange bridge at Graham Drive South and the service road to the Graham Drive north interchange.

- Truck access sites

Temporary speed limit reductions and short delays may be experienced at the following sites to allow trucks to access the work site and for work next to the highway:

- Sapphire to Emerald Beach

Weekdays from 9am to 6pm southbound at various locations from the Emerald Beach Interchange to Opal Boulevard at Korora for finishing work.

Weekdays from 7am to 6pm northbound at various locations from Opal Boulevard at Korora to the Emerald Beach Interchange for finishing work.

- Emerald Beach to Woolgoolga

Weekdays from 9am to 6pm southbound at various locations from southern end of the Woolgoolga bypass to the Emerald Beach Interchange for finishing work.

Weekdays from 7am to 6pm northbound at various locations from the Emerald Beach Interchange to the southern end of the Woolgoolga bypass for finishing work.

- Woolgoolga to Arrawarra

Weekdays from 6am to 6pm northbound near Woolgoolga Creek, Woolgoolga for finishing work

Wet weather may change work dates and times.

Traffic management and reduced speed limits will be in place where needed to ensure the safety of workers, motorists and other road users.

Electronic message signs will also advise motorists of the changed conditions.

Motorists are advised to plan their journey, allow extra travel time and follow all signs.
